Our Story

A DREAM COME TRUE.

For many years now we’ve had this common dream of coming together to write and produce music that would lead many people to discover the greatness of God’s love and move them to be apostles of that love to the world. We believed that beautiful music had such a transforming power that it would almost be an injustice to not use it as a means to lead others to the source of that beauty, which is God.

Being members of an international movement within the Church, comprised of a variety of personal vocations, histories, and talents, to get some sort of real musical initiative going was a bit ambitious. But it wasn’t impossible. We trusted that God’s grace and providence would put the right people together at the right time and in the right circumstances. And so He did.

IT JUST HAPPENED

One day in late 2019, Father John Klein called up Father Jaime Lorenzo and asked if he was willing to be part of a pilot project of recording some songs for the mission apostolates run by the Regnum Christi movement (of which they were both a part of, as Legionaries of Christ). Father John had written a couple of songs that have been used for their different youth activities during missions, and the opportunity arose for him to record those songs in Nashville through Shawn Williams, a good friend of his. Shawn was a professional Catholic music producer, and part of the Vigil Project, a new Catholic music group that had produced a couple of new and beautiful songs in the Catholic worship scene.

Along with Shawn’s help came the support of families and friends who gave Father John financial help to get this project running. Father John also invited Emily Roman, a consecrated woman of Regnum Christi, to come and sing in some of the songs, and her schedule worked out well for her to come. At that point the stars seemed to align, and God’s hand began to make itself present. It seemed too good to be true, and too good to let this opportunity pass by.

And so, at the end of June 2020, the three of us, Father John, Father Jaime, and Emily met up in Nashville for a weeklong recording session with Shawn and a couple of other friends who were in the area. We produced 6 songs, with a production quality that we could never have imagined doing before, blending deep spiritual content with beautifully produced music.

It was incredible.

OUR VISION FOR THE FUTURE

All of this is in God’s hands. And it does seem like we’ll be able to do projects like these on a more regular basis in the future. The opportunities, as they say, are endless.

Our hope is that many other Catholic musicians and singers, whether from the Regnum Christi movement or not, join this collective and begin to collaborate together to create beautiful music that inspires and evangelizes.
